	Helen D. Fry, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Green Tree at Mt. Vernon Assisted Living.
	Helen was a homemaker.  She lived in the same house on Park Street for 58 years where many family memories were created, including the annual Family Thanksgiving gathering of 42 members each year.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin, member of the Euzelian Sunday School Class and a GA leader for 26 years working with 9 year old girls, teaching them about foreign missions.  A very large, long and important part of her life was being on the Historical Committee at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.  She was an active member of the Thursday Woman's Club, the Girls Friday and  the Red Hatters.
	She was born February 8, 1917 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Harry Landy and Naomi (Brake) Daily.
	Helen married Maurice Granville Fry on January 24, 1936 at Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1992.
	She is survived by two sons- Phillip Burke Fry and wife Myrna of Country Club Hills, and Dr. Allen Dale Fry and wife Lynda of Mt. Vernon, daughter- Laura Lee Allen and husband Bruce of Marietta, Ga., sister- Wilma Evelyn Dodds of Edwardsville, three brothers- Wendell Eugene Daily of Carol Stream, Donald Quincy Daily of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Cecil W. Daily of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers- Harry Lyle Daily and George Russel Daily.
	Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, December 28, at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner, Rev. Steve Bareis and Rev. Bruce Allen officiating.
	Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from Noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
	Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
	Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
